Mr. Andy Smith, President and COO Kenco Logistic Services
Andy Smith is President and COO of Kenco Logistic Services, LLC and has been in the logistics and warehousing industry since 1989. He assumed the role of COO in 2004 and added the title of President in January 2008. Andy joined KLS in 1999 as Director of Sales and Marketing until his promotion to Vice President of Operations in 2000. In his current role as President & COO, Andy has overall responsibility for the corporate management of all facilities. His key responsibilities include corporate direction for customer and employee communication, development and implementation of a quality system, and the financial success of the logistics operations. He is responsible for managing over 25 million square feet of warehouse space, 4,000 associates, and over 100 buildings in 66 cities across 28 states and Canada. Prior to joining KLS, Andy held positions with Philips Consumer Electronic and Harrison Fulfillment Services, where he primarily focused on cost containment, decisive team leadership, excellent customer service, inbound sales center management, and the establishment and maintenance of a positive and successâoriented workplace. While at KLS, he developed an activity based costing and work measurement productivity program that is being used as the Best Practice for all KLS sites to control costs and associate productivity. Andy holds a BS degree in Management from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Active in the industry, Andy is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) and the International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA).
